Leslie P. Polzer
Independent IT professional

I offer international consulting and contracting, mostly on a remote basis.

My field of experience is quite broad, but I specialize on GNU/Linux development and administration, databases and web applications. I speak English and German fluently and work best in small teams of smart people.

Write an email to polzer@gnu.org to contact me. I'm generally available but my workload is always different, so it depends on the point in time and the scale of your project whether I'll be able to help. Encryption available: gpgkey.txt.

Open Source Projects

Over the years I've contributed to many open source projects, started a couple of projects from scratch and took over maintenance duty for some.

Google knows about most of them so you can just do a web search for my name as needed. It will probably turn up a host of patches, technical discussions and code lines. You can track most of my recent open source work on Github.

Technical articles

I've written a couple of technical articles for linux.com back then when it was a different site. A web search should turn them up as well.

Preferences

I'm most comfortable with Common Lisp but also efficient with PHP and C. Besides that I'm able to work with C++ and Java, but I prefer not to. There are many other languages, dialects and tools I'm familiar with. Contact me if you're unsure whether I can help you with your particular development environment.

Most of my work happens under GNU/Linux and is geared towards UNIX operating systems. I rarely do Microsoft Windows development.

Education

I have completed a formal education in computer science, but I mostly consider it as a theoretical supplement to extensive practical experience.
